A Bit About Me

Benedicte is a partner at Canero Fadul Immigration born in the French island of Martinique in the French West Indies, Benedicte grew up in the U.S. as of the age of eight in Charleston, South Carolina, and went on to do her undergraduate degree at N.Y.U. She subsequently obtained her Juris Doctor degree from Tulane Law, specializing and obtaining a certificate in maritime law. Upon being admitted to the Florida Bar in 2008, she joined the Miami office of the law firm Brown Sims, where she practiced Longshore law on the employer-insurance side. In 2010, Benedicte moved to Reunion Island, another French island, in the Indian Ocean, where she first worked for an accounting firm before obtaining her equivalency as a French attorney.

For three years, she worked as an associate for the French-Mauritian law firm G&P Legal, focusing on corporate and employment matters for English-speaking businesses established in the Indian Ocean region, from small- to medium-sized companies to multinational corporations. In 2017, she moved to Paris, where she became a member of the Paris bar and worked for the English-Canadian law firm Gowling, advising international companies on employment matters. In 2018, Benedicte returned to the U.S. with the intent of finding a versatile position where she could build upon her experience abroad and began working at Kurzban, Kurzban, Tetzeli, and Pratt, P.A. in a hybrid position, handling both immigration and business matters. In this role, not only did she assist employers with any visa processing but also with transactional matters, including negotiating and drafting legal contracts and anticipating any legal issues that could arise from there.

Given the current immigration context, she has increasingly specialized in employment-based immigration. She is thrilled to be a part of the Canero Fadul Immigration.  She handles all types of non-immigrant and immigrant visa petitions and primarily focuses employment-based visas obtained through National Interest Waivers and Permanent Labor Certifications. Benedicte loves living in South Florida, where she takes advantage of being outside any chance that she gets and spending time with her family and friends.
