
Michelle Canero is a founding partner of Canero Fadul Reis Law, bringing over 12 years of experience in immigration law. She handles a wide range of U.S. immigration matters, including work visas, investor visas, and permanent residence (“green card”) cases, for clients throughout the United States and around the globe. Specializing in employment and investment visas, Michelle has developed one of the largest and most successful Labor Certification (PERM) practices in Florida, boasting an impressive approval rate of 99.5%.
Her expertise encompasses immigrant and non-immigrant visa petitions, including those based on H-1B, TN, L, J, E, O, P, EB-1, EB-2 National Interest Waivers (NIW), family petitions, waivers, humanitarian parole, and the PERM process.
Born in Venezuela to parents of Trinidadian, Spanish, and Uruguayan descent, Michelle relates to her clients’ immigration experiences on a personal level and strives to make the complex and stressful process as transparent and predictable as possible. She has extensive experience working with multinational corporations, small and medium-sized businesses, and individual clients across a variety of immigration matters. Her focus on employment and investment visas has positioned her as a leading expert in the field.
An active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), Michelle is a former Board member of the AILA South Florida Chapter and currently serves on the Board of the Immigrants List. She frequently speaks on immigration matters at local chambers of commerce, professional organizations, and academic institutions, and has presented on continuing legal education panels for both AILA and Catholic Legal Services.
Believing in the value of engagement and community outreach, Michelle volunteers her time and resources to educational programming and supports various chambers of commerce and non-profit organizations. Additionally, she is involved in immigration advocacy with state and federal agencies, as well as local, state, and congressional representatives.
